Star Wars Insider

Das Ende des Jahres 2000 läutete erneut einen Herausgeberwechsel beim Star Wars Insider ein. Wizards of the Coast, verantwortlich für das Star Wars Roleplaying Game und ebenfalls Herausgeber des für zehn Ausgaben parallel erschienenen Magazins Star Wars Gamer, übernahmen den Insider von Fantastic Media, die von Decipher aufgekauft wurden. Die erste reguläre Ausgabe unter neuer Federführung erschien Anfang 2001. Bereits im Oktober 2002 dann wieder Veränderungen: Das komplette bis dahin bei Wizards für den Insider verantwortliche Team wechselte zum neu gegründeten Verlag Paizo Publishing, unter dessen Label das Magazin ab Ausgabe 62 nun achtmal im Jahr erscheinen sollte. Zudem gab es wieder eine engere Verknüpfung zum Official Star Wars Fan Club. So erschien beispielsweise jedes zweite Heft des Insider ab Ausgabe 64/65 für Abonnenten mit dem zusätzlichen Fanteil Bantha Tracks.

Die Datierung des Erscheinungszeitraums auf "March/April 2001" ist Spekulation meinerseits, da das Impressum hier zwar keinen Monat nennt, die nachfolgende Ausgabe jedoch "May/June 2001" erschien. Vermutlich ist das Magazin aber bereits früher erschienen, da WotC anfänglich noch Schwierigkeiten mit der planmäßigen zweimonatlichen Erscheinungsweise hatten.
